What We Can Carry: Weight Limits by Vehicle
Most courier websites say "large and heavy" and leave you to guess. These are our actual maximum loads, by vehicle, as the operator uses them when pricing a job. Tell us the weight and the item and we match the vehicle; if it is close to a limit we say so rather than send something too small.

Maximum payloads for the vehicle; the item still has to fit through the doors at both ends. We own our Luton van and arrange 7.5-tonne lorries through hire partners, so the larger vehicles need booking ahead.
Heavy Item Courier
A heavy item courier job is one where the weight decides the vehicle and the handling before anything else does: a machine part, a safe, a stone worktop, a pallet of stock, a piece of plant for a site. We send the vehicle whose payload covers it with room to spare, a tail lift where it cannot be lifted by hand, and a second person where one cannot move it safely. The driver straps it, drives it direct and unloads it at the other end.
Heavy Parcel Courier
A heavy parcel courier is for the box that is over the networks' weight limit or that they would charge a surcharge and still carry badly. One vehicle, your box only, nothing stacked on it and nothing thrown. If the box weighs more than one person should lift, say so and we send two. If it weighs less than that and is not urgent, a network will be cheaper and we will tell you.
Insured Parcel Delivery: What Our Cover Is
Every consignment we carry is covered by our goods-in-transit insurance, which has a limit of £20,000 per day across all our jobs, and we hold £2 million public liability insurance. Because the daily limit is shared, tell us what your item is worth when you book if it is high-value, so we can talk it through before anything is collected. 2 Man Delivery Service: Booked in Advance
Some items cannot be moved safely by one person, however strong: a sofa through a doorway, a washing machine down a step, a wardrobe up a staircase, a crate that needs lifting onto a bench. For those we provide a 2 man delivery service, arranged through our operator when you book. It is not on every vehicle as standard, so tell us when you make the booking and we quote for the crew as well as the run.
Two Man Delivery: What the Second Person Is For
A two man delivery means both people are there for the lift, the carry and the placement: the item goes into the room it is meant for rather than being left at the door, and nothing is dragged or balanced. We bring blankets and straps, keep white goods upright, and sign the item over to a named person. Furniture Courier: Sofas, Wardrobes and White Goods
Search for a furniture courier and most of what comes back is a removals firm. We are not one: we do not do house or office moves. What we do is deliver a single piece of furniture or a single appliance, in a dedicated van, with a two-person crew, for a business or a private customer, from where it is to where it is wanted. The crew is booked in advance, the price is quoted before you confirm, and the item is signed for at the other end.

Furniture Courier London

Fridges, freezers, washing machines and tumble dryers travel upright, strapped, and are carried by two people into the room they are going to. We take them from retailers, repairers and private customers alike. We do not disconnect or install appliances, and we do not take away the old one unless that is agreed as part of the job when you book.

The published rate is for a car or small van: £35 including VAT for the first 10 miles, then £1.30 a mile. A long-wheelbase van, a Luton with a tail lift, a 7.5-tonne lorry or a second person are priced on top by the operator when you book, and you have the figure before anything is confirmed. Nothing is added afterwards.

Large Parcel Delivery: When a Network Is the Better Choice
If you have one large parcel delivery to make and it is inside the networks' limits, not fragile and not needed today, book it with a network. It will cost a fraction of a dedicated vehicle and it will probably arrive fine. We would rather tell you that than take a job that does not need us. Where a dedicated courier earns its price is the parcel that is over the limit, that has been refused or damaged before, that is worth more than the network will cover, or that has to be somewhere today.
Send a Large Parcel: Three Questions Before You Book Anyone
Before you send a large parcel with anyone, including us, know three things: its weight, its longest side, and whether it would survive being dropped from waist height. If the answers are under 30 kg, under two metres and yes, a network is the sensible choice. Do you offer a 2 man delivery service?+
Yes, when it is booked in advance. A second person is arranged through our operator for items one person cannot handle safely: furniture, white goods, heavy or awkward loads. Tell us at the time of booking and we quote for the crew.
Will you deliver a sofa, a wardrobe or a fridge?+
Yes. Furniture and white goods are delivered with a two-person crew, booked ahead, for businesses and private customers alike. It is a single-item courier job, not a removal: we do not do house or office moves.
Is the item insured?+
Yes, under our goods-in-transit insurance. Tell us the value when you book so the cover matches the consignment, and pack it so it would survive being carried, because a two-person crew is careful but a box is still a box.
Should I just use a parcel network for a large parcel?+
Often, yes. If it is under their size and weight limits, not fragile and not urgent, a network will be cheaper and we will say so. Ours is the job that does not fit that description: too big, too heavy, too fragile, or needed today.
